A Publishing Resource
You can publish on the banana
fish site and even earn royalties on your articles. This site is a
free experiment in the academic community that allows students and
others to get published. Poetry, fiction and academic topics are
available at little or no cost. For example, there is an article
there on Artificial Intelligence selling for $1.00.
Specialty Publishing
Newsletters, reports, and
booklets are examples of specialty publishing that are made to order for
Web publishing. While not everyone is publishing information, there are
many who are succeeding big time.
Specialty publications are relatively easy to produce
and distribute. They can be downloaded from Web sites with widely
available software and they they can be made appealing to large or
special audiences.
The big publishing houses no longer have a monopoly in
the do-it-your-selfer's-paradise that is the Web. Sharply focused,
how-to publications in well-defined areas sell.
Publication can be downloaded, distributed on
computer discs, or on paper over the Internet or through the
mails.
You can also use specialty publications such as
newsletters and reports a marketing tools for other products or
services.
For content you can use the knowledge you have
accumulated over your lifetime through work or hobbies, or you can
solicit information, opinions, and ideas from others through surveys,
news groups, and other Internet vehicles.
