Literacy & Evangelism International
Curriculum
- Who We Are
We are a missionary fellowship, Christians from various nations and denominations, drawn together by a passion for God and compassion for people who cannot yet read the Word of God.
What We Do
We encourage, equip and enable the Church worldwide to empower the functionally illiterate with God's Word, through literacy ministries. How We Do It
We assist churches and missions worldwide with evangelism, discipleship and church planting by:
- Developing adult literacy primers with Bible content in any language
- Training church leaders and missionaries in ministries of basic literacy or English As a Second Language (ESL)
- Nurturing church-based literacy programs through technical support with prayer
Other Strategies
We also train and send missionaries specializing in basic or ESL literacy ministries to strategic locations around the world.Over 95% of the world's people have at least a portion of Scripture in print, yet half are unable to read it. They cannot read signs, labels or newspapers, write letters to relatives and friends or fill out forms.
Literacy ministries provide a practical means of continuing the work of Jesus in bringing good news, setting people free, and demonstrating God's love to people in every nation (Luke 4:18-19).
