eating roadkill
you should use disposable latex gloves in gutting just about any animal and you have to watch for brodifacoum in the livers of anything that might eat baits containing it and also allow if the animal may have been poisoned and somewhat woosey before being struck !
for diseases, the condition of the liver and lungs are a good indicator, but feral animals will always carry things like toxoplasmosis, so the disposable latex gloves are essential imo : o)
karen de felice died on the 1st of december 2012
just searching on the net and found an obituary !
she was a tireless
worker and probably worked too hard !
the days pass............ : o(
she was autistic and 51 which is when the
hormones have gone in a major way and the big silence about the cause of death could mean it was suicide
she was a depressive personality, always doing things for others with horrendous viral exposure from the audience for her book and web site !
oh well karen , you will be remembered !
the early days of the enzymes and autism message board were fun and had a huge energy :o)
it might have been cancer, she stopped doing book promotion after august
her mother is still alive, must be an odd feeling to outlive a child !
the guest book obituary
comments of her mother
“ your wife and mom was the best ever! she fought every batlle she was asked to face with more intelligence, sensitivity, energy and effort than was more than humanly possible. even as a kid, karen was always trying to do good for others. she saw problems and did her best to solve them in a logical way. she'd take on situations that she did not really want to have to handle and did them well, even when the effort physically wore her out.
i mentioned recently that as a little kid, while other children played in a lively fashion: banging on pans, pushing musical toys, and making noise as kids will do, karen tuned out the chaos around her and sat, stacking her blocks with the same careful thinking she would later use in making decisions and carrying them out. her goals were altruistic; her methods disciplined.
karen knew what she wanted. when she was two years old, her major interest was for everything in her bedroom to be purple - from sheets to bedspreads to curtains. i washed purple sheets for the longest time! ”

i liked ur homily about god being the absence of image
one of ur best
it really struck a cord with me
i read it as no self image
that's wot it meant to me
absence of self if i can say that without sounding advaita ish
it's one of those several fold poems
i think
did u mean it as an image of god or was it more abstract and meant self image too and any image of life?
anyway that's how it struck me
a good one
it's sorta stayed in my mind
my reply
i think it's multilayer
eileen's reply
yeah me too
it's the best short and to the point one u've written for awhile if i may say
on that subject
cuts the zen advaita crowd to ribbons
with few words
wot can they say to that
all the transmission stuff laid waste
my reply
yeah that's what i have been thinking lately, the only way to deal with them is to publish one's own writing !
a poem by ju-ching ( dōgen's “ teacher ” )
the bell looks like a mouth, gaping
indifferent to the wind blowing in the four directions
if you ask it about the meaning of wisdom
it only answers with a jingling, tinkling sound
my reply
the bell so much more than a mouth gaping outwards : o)
changing directions of the wind blowing is intrinsic to its soul
if you ask about the meaning of life
only discordant echoes return

my reply
some-one who has generously given of his time to point out that for a shakespeare scholar to think that shakespeare and not sir henry neville wrote those works is a catastrophic life mistake : o)

u r really regressing if u expect someone to reply that their looking into ur perspective

there's a very famous recollection by eihei dōgen, one of the most extreme
missed boats
i have seen, dōgen probably caught TB on this china trip and died of it about 28 years later, what he needed to know was that the vitamin D2 in these
sundried mushrooms could have saved his life, but no, he got hung up in ideas of
“spiritual betterment
” and spent his later life pontificating in a useless way when he should have been sun drying mushrooms and eating them :o)
he also missed that the cook , by not wearing a hat was getting skin vitamin D and also infrared and light into the brain via being light piped down the skull sutures for neural growth factors which would have been very important at age 80? !
the above link is very good, gives the more mystical side of dōgen :o)
“ when i was staying at tiantong-jingde-si (ed. 1225 -7 ? ), a monk named lu from qingyuan fu held the post of chief cook
once, following the noon meal i was walking along the eastern covered walkway towards a sub-temple called chaoran hut when i came upon him in front of the buddha hall drying mushrooms in the sun
he had a bamboo stick in his hand and no hat covering his head
the heat of the sun was blazing on the paving stones
it looked very painful
his back was bent like a bow and his eyebrows were as white as the feathers of a crane
i went up to the cook and asked, “ how long have you been a monk ”
“ sixty-eight years ” he said
“ why don't you have an assistant do this for you ”
“ other people are not me ”
“ venerable sir, i can see how you follow the way through your work. but still, why do this now when the sun is so hot ”
“ if not now, when ”
there was nothing else to say
as i continued on my way along the eastern corridor i was moved by how important the work of the cook is ”

the heart sutra is heretical, it isn't simply nonsense or even voynich, but completely
upside down BULLSHIT !
stuff prajna paramita up your arse you gautamid moron :o)
normally with translation, there's some bedrock of meaning you can orient the translation around, like i remember reading a sanskrit poem where the female lover complains of being unable to reach orgasm at the end of a bout of lovemaking and would the man please stop ! : o)
so that's an understandable real life situation and you can sorta get the translation mostly right,
however with pure nonsense or anti-sense (if you will : o) like the heart sutra there's no bedrock, just bullshit/nonsense start to finish so what a word like prajnaparamita means isn't simply open, but like all bullshit, circulates in endless twirls of crapola for ever and inferior minds (which are the vast majority !) get stuck (in) there for ever :o)

being impressed by samuel johnson's

nice to read some
sense and not the usual teenage angst
on
the
vitamin D improves insulin sensitivity in obese adolescents
interestingly vitamin D itself ( 4000iu daily in this study:
article,
abstract ) dramatically increases insulin sensitivity in obese teenagers, the argument being that because vitamin D is fat soluble, in obese people it ends up in the fat rather than metabolized, so large doses are needed !
“ obese individuals need to take in about twice as much vitamin D as their lean peers to maintain sufficient levels

that's the weirdest
song when you actually listen to the lyrics ! : o)
tammy
wynette is actually quite gender blurred, low hormones in part cause she was never very well, i thought she was a man when i first looked at the video and perhaps the song has a more subtle meaning like she got by/survived/succeeded by standing by the man in her :o )
i think the lyrics are highly elliptical which is actually true poetry
that is , it leaves stuff out that makes the sense larger ! : o)
if you give it time there's a deeper meaning
i think it helps to understand she had a very difficult life
5 marriages, severe health problems, a painkiller addiction
it's multilayered
i think i found it weird because she looked so male in the video
his head shot up when i said in conclusion that
it reminded me of dead souls. vera also turned around and stared directly at me. peering intently at me, he asked,
why do you think that
?
the reason is of course that the central character in each story faces the same problem, that of how to bring infinite potential into reality in a way that is beneficial to them, the authors dilemma actually, and of course it's somewhat impossible and backfired ! ;o)
two very autistic authors btw : o)
his head shot up when i said in conclusion that

usually these homilies just pop into mind amongst other things i am thinking
and then i think, that sounds ok, and write it down
sometimes it's responding to other people and what they have written

not taking any magnesium and supplementing

a professor walks to lectern, “ sailing over ages, the oars of happiness have been tossed left and right. aristotle said virtue, epicurus said pleasure, and abraham maslow said to actualize your potential. but how can there be a recipe for this soup? sure ingredients will be different, but the general cooking process has steps to be followed. realize your way has its own, integrating it into something you can impart, that's the trick. ”
prof. made across stage and looked at student a couple rows back, “ dr. mlk raised a question to his congregation one morning, are you going to be an anvil or a hammer? who is going to mold? ” scanning the crowd, “ each day we are faced with options; what we wield….by intending energies, things begin to take shape. to pull the distant closer, use your lasso, foresight. when those glaring hints in your backyard dominion...do those still charge you? where did these come from? grasp patience. ”
