Luscious color inside the cover—ruby, plum,
the blue-white
of a moon rising among clouds.
Grains to rub between thumb and finger—
threads of fiber, specks of wood,
the
satiny slide of embossed paper.
I respond to the sensuous richness
before I even get to the poems.
