Egg-citing KIIDS Labs!

Kids Involved In Doing Science

1. Stir Up A Ball!

PROBLEM: Can you turn glue, Epsom salt, and water into a plastic ball?

PREDICT: What do you think will happen?

TEST AND OBSERVE: Follow these steps and write down your observations.

1. Pour 1 tablespoon of Elmer's glue into a cup and set aside.

2. Put 1/2 teaspoon Epsom salt and 1/2 teaspoon water in the other cup.

3. Stir until as much salt is dissolved as possible.

4. Pour the Epsom salt mixture into the glue cup and stir.

5. Dump the mixture out onto the paper towel and blot up all the water. Put the mixture into your hands and roll it around. What happens?

CHALLENGE: Can you bounce your ball as high as your knees?

CONCLUSION: What did you learn? You will write a conclusion statement in the classroom.
