I'll be turning 50 this year and I'm not ashamed to say it. I've earned every single grey hair on my head!
I have fibromyalgia, which means that sometimes I have pain for no apparent reason and sometimes a light touch will
communicate pain to my nervous system. I also have asthma, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, and high blood pressure; congenital
spinal stenosis was just diagnosed recently, as was a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder. I find it's easier to cope
with all of this if I maintain a sense of humor!
For these reasons I work at home, doing proofreading, editing and other writing related projects, as well as selling
Watkins products. You can find my related site at http://bizbydeb.com. I have my B.A. in Liberal Studies and English and I write children's stories and science fiction. I also
have a Christian devotional site, Come to the Garden.
I was born in the L.A. area, one of that rare breed of bird, a California native! In jr. high my family moved to
Orange County and I attended Marco Forster in San Juan Capistrano. Then I went to high school at Dana Hills High; one
of my few claims to fame is that I was in the same graduating class as Nicole Brown Simpson, she was homecoming princess at our
'76 Homecoming Game. I was a mousey little thing back then; I hung out by the door to the music dept., across from
the school attendance window.
Once I graduated I spent some time going to the local community college, Saddleback. I worked at various local
answering services, most of which no longer exist, including the Exchange and Coast Connections and at Nationwide Ins.
I also worked at an exec. ofc. suite called Alliance Business Center in Costa Mesa, eventually becoming Supervisor to the
phone operators there. Mary Kaye and Phillip, if you read this, email me!
I followed my best friend to Lake Elsinore and worked for Trycho Music, for a guy who programmed MIDI music by ear at
a time when most people didn't know what MIDI was! Then I went to work for Sid at MRC, a medical transcription service.
She was, without a doubt, the best boss I ever had! I was the receptionist with a million duties!!
When I became unable to work, I went back to school to get the aforementioned B.A. degrees, then moved up to the Calif.
high desert area. I now live in San Diego, which is near the Calif/Mexico border; I love the company and the quiet
here!
I love to sing and to make up harmonies to songs I enjoy. I've sung on a worship team and acted as worship
leader for a small home fellowship. I sing in a local chorus, we do barbershop style music, which is a new thing for
me. I'm also the web administrator for the chorus' website which is at www.califnotecatchers.mirrorz.com. I love to read, especially sci fi, my current favorite author is Anne McAffrey and I (obviously) spend a
lot of time online!
