Commonly known as the SCA, this organization facilitates medieval reenactments, primarily of the Renaissance Period.

I did it, I am now a legal member of the SCA!  I still participate in activities in the Kingdom of Caid, as a Friend of House Sterling.  The time period being reenacted in this scenario is that of the 14th century.  My persona's name is Naphtalía de Aragon.  As Naphtalía I fled the court of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella during the time of the Spanish Inquisition, to preserve my religious freedom as a Jew.  My father had been a scribe in the King's court at Castillo de Moya.  My cousin, Belasset de Casal-Drago, and her companion, Denenwulf, a Norman, were traveling bards, so I have joined them in their travels.  When we are at the Great House of Sterling, which is the only place we can now call home, I am the librarian of Lord Madog and Lady Rhael Anedd's collection.

The next war we plan to attend is Estrella War '05 in AZ.  You may find us at Camp Habib, as Belasset plays with the Middle Eastern band, Al Samoud.

I am currently working on a heraldic device for myself and one for my cousin.  When mine is finished I will post it here.  Our family motto is Dragos Habitus Commeatus, which roughly translates dragons live free.  My first name comes from Genesis 49:21..."Naphtali is a doe set free, who makes beautiful words." (my paraphrase of the NAS version).

A Few Pictures of Great Western War VI:

Here I am in the Library of House Sterling.  We asked each person who was camping with us to bring three books about the Renaissance or Medieval Times.  We had books about a multitude of subjects, from costumes to war!  Lord Madog had some of his armor and weaponry on the shelves and although he promised to move it, it stayed there all through the war.  I think it actually looks pretty cool.

On the last day of war, Lord Madog payed his troops, servants and employees.  At the same time, Lady Rhael Annedd gave me two silver charms, a Torah with the Seal of Solomon on it and a heart.  The first was for wisdom and the second for companionship.

In the heat of the day many of us sought the shade under a tree near the lake.  That's me on the far left.  Her head, bare shoulder and wheelchair handle are all you can see of my best friend, Sherrie; it was her first war.  She was there as Annabelle of Boleyn and had brought out her flute.  You should be able to make out Belasset (m/k/a Randy), she's the one playing the violin next to Annabelle.  The Lord and Lady of the House declared the musical interlude absolutely decadent!
