The Sun Rose (and later it descended) (translated from Spanish) 2000 Today like yesterday the sun rose Sprinkling me with hope. But in its course towards land As it laid over the oceans, It retrieved its flames of joy, Offering the sky to the moon that came. Slowly it announced itself With its brilliance of solitude And even though it rose slowly It rose with self assurance. It came like yesterday Stealing from me joy It took from me All it wanted. Without pity it looked at me And exploded in silent laughter. I perplexed looked at it And drowned my cries of sadness In the corners of silence Where I admired its beauty.
