Faith Full Families: growing through Lent
Please join us Sunday, March 10th, for Faith Full Families. We will
meet from 4 to 6 PM in the parish hall at church. We will be looking at Lent as an
opportunity to grow, and our time will be structured around that theme. There will be
activities for children, a potluck supper, all-family crafts, songs, and time for
reflection. If you havent come to a Faith Full Families before, you are welcome to
join us now or anytime in the future. Please sign up for the potluck supper on the
bulletin board across from Father Jasons office. As always anyone is welcome to
come, but the activities are geared for children up to sixth grade.
FELLOWSHIP:
If you set aside funds for the Episcopal
Relief and Development as part of your Lenten discipline, please exchange any cash
donation into a check for ease of handling. Donations may be mailed to the church or
placed in the offering plate, if you wish. Make checks payable to St. Pauls Church
with Episcopal Relief and Development noted on the memo line. All donations will then be
combined into a single donation from our parish. You may also send your individual
offering directly to the fund:

The Vestry wishes to thank everyone who
responded to the survey handed out at the annual meeting. There was much to discuss and it
was realized that a careful and well planned approach to the many issues raised would be
in order. It was agreed that the parish would be kept updated as progress was made not
only concerning a possible third service in the future but other long range plans for the
community. At this time the vestry is exploring option to increase the seating capacity
during services.
Facilities Plans In its workshop the
vestry members discussed several possible projects for the Church building and property.
Choice of projects was based on the consideration of need and feasibility.
For immediate attention are:
1. Lighting-some important electrical rewiring is needed.
It has been suggested that we might improve lighting in some areas and add a dimmer panel
at the same time. Combining all three projects would be cost effective, compared to doing
them separately.
2. Parking-due to increasing attendance we are in need of
increased parking. This project will be done in the least invasive way and we encourage
all suggestions.
For the "Near Future":
1. Air conditioning and housing for the air conditioning
units. It has been suggested that a Bell Tower be erected to house the air conditioning.
The Bell Tower was part of the original church design.
2. There is a need for one additional Worship Center space.
This would allow all young people to have a permanent place for their classes.
Long term plans include:
1. Addition of a Lobby area to create more space and
comfort upon entering the church.
2. The addition of an education and office wing.
If you have an interest in, comments or
suggestions for, any of the listed projects please contact: Bela W. Lindenfeld,
927-1870, bela@qtm.net
Please mark your calendars...
Daylight Savings Time begins on April 7 so be sure to set your clocks ahead
.
The St. Pauls Choir will sing
at both services on Easter Sunday, March 31. Choir rehearsal will take place on Sunday,
March 10, 17, 24 at Noon. If you enjoy singing, please consider lending your voice. All
enthusiastic participants are welcome.
Junior Choir will sing at the Palm
Sunday 10:30 Holy Eucharist. In preparation, the members will rehearse on Thursdays at
6:30 PM, beginning February 28. Other rehearsal dates are March 7, 14, and 21. All members
will need to be ready for a final practice on Sunday, March 24 at 9:40 AM. If any children
are interested in joining, now would be a good time. Please let Mother Liza or Linda Mack
know so that materials can be prepared. |
