These Strips solve many assembly and access problems, such as mounting the final side on a closed structure and for butt-joining plates, angle girders, cylinders etc etc. With the reduced overhang, they are unobtrusive in a model. The combination of plain and tapped holes allow journals and fixings in a wide and imaginative variety of ways.

HEAVY AXLE COMPONENTS


This large diameter axle system is designed for use in particularly heavy constructions as also in models where the load on axles is far in excess of the bearing capacity of standard shafts. The system is based on 5/16'' Ø tough stainless steel axles journalling in 8mm bores with other heavy-duty components adapted from the standard system. Hollow Axles have a through clearance bore to provide a smooth sliding fit for standard axle rods.

The 3'' Hollow Axle is cross-tapped at the ends to enable its use as a roller in plate-rolling mechanisms

Axle Rods can be provided with a  blind-tapped longitudinal hole at each end  in which a threaded part, e.g. a bolt, can be screwed

Pulleys without bosses 2'' [20c] and 3'' [19f] can be used with the Heavy Axles

Hollow Axles can be provided in lengths up to 23" to special order. POR.
