In the Movie 'The Shawshank Redemption' there are two different kinds of power.
Power of the Institution, and Power of the Individual.

Some examples of Power in the Institution are:-

" A terrible thing to live in fear..." Red

" I'm telling ya these walls are funny. First you hate 'em...then you get used to 'em... Enough time passes, you get so you depend on 'em. That's institutionalised." Red

" I believe in two things- discipline and the Bible. Here you'll receive both. Put your trust in the Lord; your ass belongs to me." Warden Norton

Some examples of Individual Power are:-

" The funniest thing is, on the outside I was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook." Andy

" I guess it comes down to a simple choice really. Get busy livin' or get busy dyin' " Andy

" I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be cage, their feathers are just too bright...And when they fly away, the part of me that knows it was sint o lock them up, does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and ugly they they're gone." Red

When looking at the different sequences in the Shawshank Redemption we are shown that there is many different ways of showing power for example
The use of grey, blue and brown colours that are contrasted against the floor in sequence one.
Or in sequence two when Warden is shown close up but when Tommy is shown he is small and intimidated by the lighting and colour.
