When looking at the above cartoon, what do you think? how do you feel? what kind of power would you describe is shown within the drawing? When analysing the cartoons we should try to follow some of the following guidelines.

* what is your first impression of the cartoon's meaning?
* Read any words/dialouge first.
* Consider the impact of varying tones of light and shade
* Look at the facial expressions shown on the characters face, are they angry, sad, happy? etc
* What type of power is represented in this text?
* What does the cartoon suggest about power and relationships?

I personally think that the above cartoon shows us two people arguing, and the person pointing out his fingers has more power over the other. The way the cartoon has been drawn shows that the person closest to you is higher up, and more in charge. Where as the other character is smaller, and futher away which makes up automatically think that he is powerless.
