Based on the design principles of the papermaking hydropulping machine, Dr. Leslie Westerlund, scientist (right of photo), was
redesigning the hydropuler into a Biogas-pulping machine with industry partners. This converts organic matter, like food scraps,
into a fine pulp to be fed into the bio-gas reactor. The reactor produces 1 cubic metre of gas per day from food waste in
a new process developed at a university Environmental Technology Centre in Western Australia.
