Incorporating Technology in the L2 Classroom:

Students in a low intermediate grammar course use the computer to research natural disasters

I have utilized technology in my classes in several different ways. I had students create their own webpages to publish their poetry using geocities. Wireless labs are used for researching background information. Students can go on internet scavenger hunts to search for information online. A wonderful way to have students publish their work is to have them type and decorate it using word processing programs.

Guiding Students in Using Technology

In a student-centered environment, my role as the teacher is to assist, not direct, the students.

Sometimes referred to as "teach-nology," technology in the classroom has many practical uses. Students acquire language while developing their computer skills. Students can research more current and detailed information from authetnic sources by using the internet. The computer can help the student publish their work in an eye-appealing manner. Plus, technology is a fantastic way to bring fun into the classroom!
