Saving, Closing, and Printing
Saving:
There are numerous ways in which you could save a
spreadsheet. A spreadsheet could be saved by clicking on "File" from the
menu toolbar then clicking on "Save", or you could click on the save
icon ( ) on the
standard toolbar.

Printing:
In order to print your page, you could first print preview it by
clicking on "File" on the menu toolbar, then clicking on "Print
Preview" (look at image above), or you could click on the "Print Preview" icon ( )
on the standard toolbar. This would take you to a window where you could
view your spreadsheets as they would look like when they are printed
out. You could then print your page by clicking on the "File" on the menu toolbar,
then clicking on the "Print" button. This would bring up a dialog box in which
you could choose to change preferences such as printing more than one
page, or printing a specific page. When you are ready to print, click on
"Ok" on the dialog box. Another way to print is to click on the print
icon ( ) on the
standard toolbar.
Note: Clicking on the print icon would directly
print one copy of your spreadsheet without bringing up the dialog box.
Tip: Always save your work before printing.
Closing:
Closing and exiting a spreadsheet are two different commands.
When you close a spreadsheet, you are leaving Microsoft Excel open, but
only closing the current spreadsheet you are on. When you Exit, you are
shutting down the whole Excel program.
Note: Always save before
you close or exit your work.
Steps to closing:
1) Click on "File" on the menu toolbar
2) Click on "close"
Steps to exit:
1) Click on "File" on the menu toolbar.
2) Click on "Exit" Shortcut Actions:
Saving: You could save quickly by holding "CTRL" and
press on the letter "S"
Printing: You could print quicker by holding "CTRL" and
pressing
on the letter "P". Be careful because it will print a copy without
bringing up the dialog box.
Closing: There is no shortcut to close a spreadsheet, but to exit
you could either click on the "X" on the top right hand of your Excel
program, or you could hold down "ALT" and press on the "F4" button. |
