The above picture is of Sara and her Mother Susan. It was taken in February of this year on the occasion of her brother's 29th Birthday.

Sara has a condition known as Aplastic Anemia. The diagnosis is not 100% but pretty certain. This condition requires that she have frequent blood transfusions.

"I was born and raised in Lovington, Illinois .. my father was a coal miner, until the mine flooded out .. then he was a school janitor .. He had seven kids .. and we all had to work very hard in helping him with the janitor work - yard mowing - painting - etc. I have worked in a grocery store on weekends and after school .. delivered papers for Chicago Tribune, and Decatur Herald on a bicycle .. helped raise beef and hogs .. and helped butcher cattle for sale in the grocery store ...I served in the in Korea from 1951-51 as an infantry paramedic & later with IBM Special Services Ft. Geo. G. Meade, Md. I have been retired for 10 years from my job as Southeastern Distribution Manger for Gates Rubber Company, out of Denver, Colorado. I love all kinds of sports ... though my least interest is Hockey .. I Love to play golf, (after all I named my eldest son Byron Nelson!) and have been playing now for 28 years .. Charlie is KS8L from Canal Winchester, Ohio, Quent is WA4BZY from Covington, Ga. and Smitty is AC5C from El Reno, Oklahoma. Willc is the nick, Bill or William is the name. I am 55, married 29 years and have 3 daughters and 5 grandsons. We reside in Gloversville, New York. G'ville is a small town about 50 miles NW of Albany NY. I retired from the GE Co. after 31 years to try out the "Good Life". Found it to be "Great"!! I enjoy "hanging out", but have many interests, including gardening,hunting,fishing and of course the grandkids and my computer.

Other Info: I recently took an early retirement buyout package from Arizona Public Service Company (which is the electric utility company for the state of Arizona) where I worked as a Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO and Chairman of the Board for 20 years. Prior to this, I was secretary to the Vice President of Entertainment at Caesars Palace for 15 years. Don’t at all regret retiring, although I thoroughly enjoyed my work too. My greatest joy is my grandchildren, and what spare time I have left I am publishing a catalog for my brother’s business (which is manufacturing material handling equipment) and we hope to get a webpage soon for his business. I also indulge in cross stitch (immensely), reading (best sellers, and mysteries), sewing, serging, cooking, baking and my home is my hobby. I thought I would have time to do all these things when retired! Yeah right! And now I have this new addiction: Mirc! Have really enjoyed meeting all new friends on Mirc. I hope someday soon to get pictures of my children, grandkids, hubby, parents, and the rest of the family on the webpage.
