Located
now in building 12 level 4, SRA-FM is the new incarnation of RMIT's student
radio station. SRA-FM now has a permanent transmission
site on the Melbourne Central Tower and a complete upgrade of its production
and on air equipment. It broadcasts as an aspirant
radio station on 94.9 FM. Currently funded by the RMIT Student Union and
boasting around 400 members, SRA-FM has built itself into Melbourne's premier
student powered radio station. In 1998 it also contributed to the first
Melbourne wide broadcast by a collective of student radio stations. It
was called the "Student radio Festival" and marked a new era in student
radio at RMIT.
