A bright flash, followed by a vapor
trial shot over the truck... Hitting Godzilla behind it's head. "What
the hell, was that?!" Max exclaimed. "Opportunity knocking!" Tammy shot
back, steering the truck into a controlled skid. She managed a
180, without losing any speed. "Where the hell, you learn that?" Max
said, not knowing whether he should be impressed, or scared crazy.
"police T.V!" She replied. "...Right." Max said. The only thing
that mattered, was that they were speeding away from Godzilla.
"...Woah!" Max exclaimed,
looking up through the windshield. Above the canyon made of giant
Hotels, he saw godzilla's attacker... Skyfire. "It's about time!" Tammy complained,
driving in a direction, that would take them under the hoverring
ship. Again, the metal monster unleashed it's firepower... Max looked
to the truck's sideview. Godzilla had been advancing once again,
until the second wave of rockets hit. "... Our missiles aren't
hitting home!" Came another voice over the field Radio,.. This time,
Murphy. "They kept us from being dinner!!" Max exclaimed. "Very true,..
Now duck down a side street." Murphy replied. "We're duckin'! " Exclaimed
Tammy, throwing the Hummer into another controlled skid.
The truck was
now out of Godzilla's view, heading around the beast. This also
Allowed Skyfire an opportunity for clear shots. Now, the ship
really let lose. Missiles launched, as bright beams of sharp light,
fired from what looked like turrets. Seeing this, Max began to
warm up to the giant vessel. The firestorm sent from it,
was concentrated on the beast... Allowing little dammage to the surrounding
Hotel buildings. Godzilla was doing a fine job of wrecking them,
on it's own. With Skyfire's relentless hammering, the monster decided
to retaliate... Again, the spines lifted, and glowed... Then the came
the atomic furnace breathe.
Godzilla's firestom
hit the ship head-on... But, the reflective skin, held fast. The
Skyfire was still hoverring, right were it had before the blast.
In it, Murphy and crew, let lose with another round of missiles.
Again, they exploded all over the creature...But missing the main
target. Max saw this strike, as they crossed an intersection, a
few blocks away from Godzilla's position. "..What do they mean, missing??
They just lit him up, like a christmas tree!!" Max questioned.
"They're using RadAb tips, they need a clean shot into his
mouth, for them to do any good!" Sue answered from the back.
"So, how much longer, to your mom's?" He now asked Tammy. "About
10 minutes,.. She lives closer to Diamond Head!" She replied, flooring
the gas.
The Hummer slid
to a hault in a driveway. The three had arrived at Tammy's
mothers house. The building looked of Oriental style... Favored by the
family's origin, no doubt. The group had lept from the vehical,
and raced to the door. Max could hear the distant battle,
as Godzilla and Skyfire exchanged rounds. When her mother didn't
answer, Tammy rushed in the door, using the emergency key her
mother kept hidden. Her mother was standing in front of the
big window in the living room, as the three entered. "Didn't
you here me??" Tammy exclaimed.
"Who can hear
anything, over all this racket!.. What are you doing here, anyway?!"
Inquired the woman. "Actually, we came to get you!" Tammy answered.
"I told you, I'm not leaving this house!.. If Godzilla want's
to flatten it, then so be it!" came the reply. "We can't let
him do that, if you're still in it,.. Mrs. Serricuti." Sue added.
The woman now realized, Tammy had brought other people with her. "You
and your friends, should be somewere safe!.. Not here, trying to
change an old woman's mind..." She said, addressing the all three. "We'll
be on our way, as soon as you get it in gear, mother!" Tammy
demanded. "Yes, but I just made myself some tea!" Argued the
woman, as she headed for the kitchen. Tammy rolled her eyes, then
followed... Max and Sue could hear the two, as they continued
this 'discussion'. "Danm, she's tough..." Max muttered. "Yeah, but Tammy
can be just as stubborn,.. Runs in the family!" Sue answered.
"Speaking of family,.. Isn't that Serizawa?" Max inquired, looking at
a picture on the wall. "Yeah, that's him." Sue replied. "To
bad, he didn't leave his papers here." Max finnished, The conversation
was inturrupted by a loud explosion... The battle in Honolulu was
getting closer. " And that, would be too close!" Max exclaimed. "Yeah,
I think it's time to go!" Sue replied.
Max went to
the kitchen door, addressing the woman beyond it. "If you ladies
are done, could we maybe, get a move on?.. Please??" The two
emerged from the room, both seemed upset. Sue and Max looked
on, quietly. "..Just, let me get a few things then, and we'll
be off." said mother. This was a relief! Max shot a look
over at Tammy, who gave him the 'don't ask' expression in
return. A few minutes later, the four entered the truck.
The three ushured
Mrs. Serricuti into the back seat, Sue joined her. Tammy again
took the wheel, Max shotgun... "Well, let's get going then." Said
Tammy's mother, with a sigh. Tammy started the truck, and reversed
it out of the driveway. "You're gonna be alright, Mrs. Serricuti."
Sue said. "... Of course I am,.. I couldn't miss my Daughter's
wedding,.. Now could I?" In the front seat, Max looked at
Tammy with question. "We'll talk later, hon..." Tammy said through her
teeth, smiling. "...We sure will, now let's go!" He replied, with
equal plesantry. Sue understood the ploy, and said nothing.
The Hummer was
again speeding down the deserted streets of Honolulu. The sky was
now orange with fire, as many of larger buildings were wrecked
or damaged. explosions and weapons fire could be seen here and
there, between the giant hotels they drove past. Max caught a
glimpse of Skyfire. It was still there, still fighting with
Godzilla.

Sue got
on the field radio and called Murphy. "How's it going, with
lizard-lips?" She asked. "Not as good as I wanted!.. We're down a
turret, and two of the launchers are off line! But the ship's
still sound... Did you get Tammy's mother?" Murphy asked. "As a
matter of fact, we did!.. She couldn't miss Tammy and Max's wedding
day, copy?" Sue hedged. "Ahh...Come again?" Murphy asked, sounding confused.
"...The Wedding, remember? You're the best man?!" She insisted. "Oh,
yeah... Congratulations, Max!" He shouted. Max rolled his eyes.
"...Are you talking
to the man, in that flying Machine?" Tammy's mother asked Sue.
"Yes, actually." Sue replied. Mom's expression brightened up... "You didn't
tell me, you were marrying a military man?!" She exclaimed, sounding excited.
"Yeah mom... Sort of..." Tammy replied, now slightly annoyed. "Your father,
would've been so proud." She beamed. This was a strange conversation
to be having, at this point in time, thought Max.
The Hummer rolled
on,.. Tammy had taken another route in order to avoid the raging
battle. Max watched outside the driver's window, getting a view
of it between buildings. That's when Tammy jammed the breaks again. "Shit!"
She exclaimed. "Tammy! Watch your language!" Her mother replied, then seeing
the reason for this outburst. In front of the truck, three
gigantic claws, with a monster attatched. "Son of a Bitch!" Mom
exclaimed.
Tammy threw the
truck in reverse, then steered down a side street... Out of the
monster's view. "If Murph's fighting one of 'em over that way...
Than this..." Max started. "Is the second one!" Came the finish in
unison. "You're about to get tag-teamed, Murphy!" Sue exclaimed over
the radio. "What?" came the radio voice. "The other one's comming
in from your...left hand side!" "I don't think we can deal with
two!" Murphy answered. "I don't think, you have much choice!" Sue
fired back.
The new arrival,
wasn't interested in Skyfire... Instead, it made a stand toward the
other monster. The Godzilla, Murphy had been attacking, now caught
wind of the other's presence, turning to face it. The two
stood for a moment, staring each other down. Both let lose a
howel of discontent... This wasn't going to be good.
"This is gonna
get messy!" Max muttered. "Sure looks that way." Sue added, looking from
the position. The two monsters charged each other. Each trying to
get a bite, on the other, snapping jaws and flailing claws
insued. "That's our cue..." Tammy said, flooring the truck toward the
city's outskirts. But this wasn't soon enough.
One of the
monters, threw the other down... It's massive body slid along, knocking
down several buildings. Rubble and debris started to rain down
into the street as Tammy drove. All of this was too much
for her to control the truck... And it swirved over a sidwalk,
and into a shop window. Glass flew, then tables and all
other things not nailed down, as the massive Hummer slid to
a stop. Max looked over, checking on Tammy. She seemed to
be alright. "Mom, are you ok?!" She exclaimed, after getting her
senses back. "Who taught you how to drive?!" Mother fired back. "I'll
take that as a yes.." Tammy muttered. "She looks fine, how are
you two?" Sue asked. "Better, when we get outa here." Max said.
"Where the hell,
are you guys?!" Murphy asked, over the radio. Max and the others
looked around, The Hummer came to rest, next to a stage... They had
drivin through the rest of the club. "We just demmoed the Club
Hawian..." Max replied, matter of factly. "Place was a dive, anyway...Tell
'em to send you a bill. Now, is there anyway you can
get up to the roof?" Murphy asked. "We'll look for the stairs." Max
said. "If you can do that, I can pick you up!" Murphy
explained. "Great, we'll see you in a few, then!" Max answered.
The group found
a stairway in the kitchen, and started up. Sue and Tammy, helped
mother as they climbed. Several flights up, Max noticed that he
could see the sky filled with flames, were the roof should
be. The top of the building must have been sheered off.
He could hear the two monsters, as they continued to do battle.
"This could be a problem..." Max said, looking up.
The stairs ended
with a twisted landing. Above, there was broken walls, utility
lines, and electric cables wrapped aroud rebar and steel girders.
"Don't touch anything!" Sue said, looking at the mess. Tammy and
her mother were the last to get to this point... And now
could see what the others were looking at.
With the walls
missing, The group had a good view of the battle. Both monsters
were still thrashing about. There where several large fires from
the wrecked skyline. The heart of this giant city, was being
turned into a pile of smoking debris. Mrs. Serricuti looked at the
scene... Visibly upset. "This is our legacey, you know... We brought
this all on, ourselves!" She exclaimed. The others looked to her
silently. Max knew, that for her...This was Tokyo all over again.
"Yes, but uncle Serizawa found an answer... I think, we can as
well!" Tammy replied. Max and Sue looked at her, puzzled.
There wasn't
time to ask... The massive hull of Skyfire slid over the group,
from behind their vantage point. A door slid open under it's
girth, and a stairway slid down. Max noticed, the entire thing
was insolated against electric charge. He was really beginning to
like this ship. The group boarded, and the Skyfire was off... This
time, away from the battle ground, toward FendTech.
Max, Tammy and
Sue watched the two monsters, over a vid monitor. They could
now see, that one was larger than the other. The big one,
seemed to be more powerful as well. The other one, looked to be
retreating. This confrontation was over...for now.
