Fendtech was
a madhouse when the Skyfire returned.. Max and his group, were
ushured off to Decom... They had been exposed by proximity of
the monsters. After being cleared of radiation, it was off to
the command center. Murphy had his own set of chores. The Skyfire
needed to be cleansed of radiation as well... Then the repairs
could be done. At present, he could do very little,..except join with
the others.
Stanton looked exhausted... He had been working for 60
plus hours worth no rest. "The ship held up well, out there!
Good job, Murphy." He said. "Thanks, but you should be telling that
to the builders." Murphy replied. "Already did." Stanton smiled. "Your mother's
fine, I take it?" He turned, addressing Tammy. "Yeah, she's been set
up with one of our visitor's quarters." Tammy informed. "...And sir,
thank you for letting us get her." She added. "It was your risk,
Miss Serricuti." Reminded Stanton.
"Yes sir" replied the woman.
"They tore each
other up, pretty good..." Stanton said, turning to the vid screens.
"...Not to mention, half of Honolulu!" He finished, sounding dissapointed.
"We never got a clear shot, with the Radabs, sir." Murphy explained,
equally upset. "We need to improve the time it takes, to
lock a target with the onboard computer." Murphy added. "I want
you and your team on it, as soon as Skyfire's cleaned up!"
Stanton ordered. "That's our plan, sir!" Murphy affirmed. "Good man." Stanton
said.
"From our video
feed, we know... One of the monsters is smaller. This is our
wounded animal from Molokai... That's what we'll call it from now
on." Stanton said, addressing all. "The other will be 'Pearl.'.. This
way, we can keep 'em straight." He finished. The others gave a
nod. "I want you three, back at the lab... See what else
you can come up with." Stanton ordered, addressing Max, and the women.
___
___
___
The lab
was busy with all kinds of testing. Max and his group had
a hard time, finding a quiet place to work. Once they did,
Tammy started working with old stories... Remembering what she had been
told. "The Serizawa Device, was shaped something like this..." She said,
offering a small sketch she made. "That looks like the description,
I've read in all the reports." Sue added. "Well, if we can't
go forward, let's do a little backwards thinking." Max sugested,
watching them. "Exactly!" Sue smiled.
"We know, the device
was used under water..." Max thought out loud. "... H2O was the
catalyst... It probably wouldn't have been as effective, in atmosphere."
He said. "Too many other elements, Like Nitrogen." Sue added. "...But,
there are alot of chemicals, that will react to Oxygen... Too
many to count." Tammy said. "...But, in order to destroy an element, you
would need a sustained fission... Unless..." Max trailed off... Thinking things
through. "... What if, you set Hydrogin and Oxygen against one another?"
Max smiled. "That would do it!" Sue exclaimed. The three got right
to work. Murphy would be needed later, in order to make
the technology happen.
___
___
___
Murphy had his
hands full... He and his crew were going over the targeting computer
aboard Skyfire. As it turned out, the device wasn't calibrated
correctly. The oversight would cost several million in weapons needing
repair. Work had begun on said repairs, when he left to join
Max and co. Skyfire would be down, for at least 30 hours... This
was not good, As 'Pearl' had returned to the ocean...And 'Molokai'
was M.I.A. Presumed to have gone to sea, as well.
Stanton had been
informed of the new H2O disrupter... And suggested, it to work
in saline as well. Then he went off to catch some shut-eye. The
group understood Stanton's direction, and worked fevorishly to complete
the new device. This would take many revisions, plans, resorces and
hours. The main disadvantage,.. was the fact, that only one could
be built this quick. Being very complicated, it might not even
work.

Dawn, would bring another attack... As the sky started
to brighten, both monsters appeared near the shipping docks. One
seemed to be in pursuit of the other. The wounded Molokai, was
the target. The creature seemed to think, the giant ocean liners
could offer refuge from it's foe. 'Molokai' slid next to one
of the achored super ships.
The crew onboard,
watched in panic as the monster parked itself along side. The
only good thing about this situation, was that these ships had
no passengers. They had been docked, when the dangers first appeared.
'Pearl' now stopped, looking around for the other. He gave a short
yelp, as if dismayed... Then sniffed, as he looked about. It was
the paniced liner, that gave 'Molokai's' position away. The ship's
alarms were sounding, as the crew took up life boats. 'Pearl'
took notice... Seeming to sense the other's location, now. His back
danced with blue-white energy... Then came the firestorm. It blasted
a hole, clear through the giant ship, hitting 'Molokai' in the
back.
The hidden animal
responded with a blast of it's own... Sheering off the liner's
bow, in the process! Along with this exchange, 'Molokai' stood up.
Now both Godzilla's locked in another stare down... Between them, the
giant luxery ship was burning, starting to roll over. Another
vocal exchange was made, as the two closed in on each other.
'Pearl' charged, breaking through the liner's remains and attacking
'Molokai.' Again, both locked teeth and claws. The fight was back
on.
___ ___
___
News of the
battle, spread through FendTech like wildfire. "We're not ready,
yet!" Exclaimed Murphy, upon being told. "I don't think, they're timing
this, for our convienience..." Max said. "But Stanton's not even awake!" Murphy replied.
"He will be!.. And not in the best of moods, either!" Sue added.
"You ain't kidding... I better get back to Skyfire!" Murphy said, as
he exited the lab with messenger in tow. "we'd better get going,
too!" Tammy exclaimed. "We can't do anything, without the converted
detonator, Murphy was working on!" Sue explained. "Then, we ought to
get to the control room!" Max added.
Stanton looked like
a bull, that someone had messed with. "How close are we, to
having that weapon?!" He barked. "Not close enough, sir!" Sue admitted.
"Damn it!.. Murphy, tell your crew to get Skyfire in the air... I
don't care if the repaires aren't complete, just get it done!"
"Yes sir!" Murphy answered, the went to his phone. "I want you
to finish that weapon, A.S.A.P. We'll send it to Skyfire, on
a chopper." Stanton ordered. With that, the three waited for Murphy,
and headed for the lab
___
___
___
'Molokai' was again
trying to hide from the stronger 'Pearl'... This time, making
use of a refinery and it's massive storage tanks. 'Pearl' used
it's firebreath again, sending the whole installation up in a
huge fireball. 'Molokai' screamed, and bounded away from the heat. This
was too much, for the wounded reptile. Singed and battered, the
monster tried another retreat... But 'Pearl' wasn't about to let it
go. The stonger of the two, caught up, and grappled the
other from behind. Sinking it's teeth, deeply into the existing wound.
'Molokai' dropped to the 'ground' ( A bunch of storage buildings.) and
rolled... Trying to lose the other's grip. The two monsters were both
on the ground, locked in combat when Skyfire joined the attack.
The gigantic fighting
machine opened with an all out, missile assault. Explosions rocked
the area of battle. Both reptiles disengaged one another, then looked
toward the Skyfire, as it hovered. The animals, now seemed very
interested in this new, metalic antagonist. Unlike before, when Skyfire
was all but ignored... This was not a good sign.
