I would rate the Canyon as the next best experience to Niagara. The sights I saw were just awesome and sometimes unbelievable. The Canyon just takes your breath away. We drove from Las Vegas to the Canyon National Park. The roads in Arizona are so straight, you can shoot like an arrow, accelerating to about 100 miles per hour. It was quite thrilling as it was the first time I had even driven at that speed !

The Grand Canyon is 4-18 miles (6-29 km) wide, more than 200 miles (320 km) long and roughly 1 mile (1.6 km) deep. The park also includes 277 river miles (445 km) of the mighty Colorado River. The North Rim is 8,000 feet (2,438 m) above sea level and receives snow and ice throughout the winter. Even in the summer, the North Rim can be quite cool and damp with an average summer temperature of 70° F (21° C). The popular South Rim is 7,000 feet (2,133m) above sea level and also receives snow in the winter. The average summer temperature is a pleasant 80° F (27° C). Temperatures below the rim and on the floor of the Canyon are much warmer and can reach 120° F (49° C).

We took a chopper ride over the canyon which was a truly memorable experience. I just lost count of the number of pictures I took from bird's eye view !
