         The Gothic design of the Ukraine Hotel is also apparent in
         the Moscow University, and several buildings of varied uses
         around the former eastern block. GUM, or State Universal
         Store, dates back to around the turn of the 20th century,
         and was the model for several modern shopping malls
         constructed in the 1970's and 1980's. The church in the
         Kremlin is one of many inside the palace walls. The Kremlin
         is a must see for anyone stopping over in
