Statues may be of historical
significance, or merely points of interest. They sometimes
offer an opportunity to liven up a photo of friends or
relatives, if your subjects are willing to mimic or
interract with the statue. For instance, at the Iwo Jima
Memorial in Washington, D.C., I once saw some students form
their own version of the statue in front of it, making for
an unusual and interesting image.
