Barca: "we'll give you £.12ml if you beat Deportivo"

Barcelona will pay a £1.2million win bonus to their city rivals Espanyol if they beat league leaders Deportivo La Coruna at the weekend.

The incentive - legal and not unknown in Spanish football - will add a dramatic edge to the last round of league matches on Friday night.

Barca play Celta Vigo at home and, if they win and La Coruna go down against Espanyol, then the Catalans will win the title for the third consecutive season.

Although the Spanish Football Federation frowns on such win bonuses, they are not against the law. But it is an offence to pay a team to lose.
