Pahang, the largest state in Peninsular
Malaysla with an area of 35,964 square kilometres, is located on
the east coast of the country. A state with a wide variety of contrasting
landscapes, it offers the holiday maker a wide choice of activities.
There are majestic peaks and the cool hill resorts of Fraser's Hill,
Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. There is even a vast rain
forest teeming with myriad flora and fauna in Taman Negara - a national
park estimated to be more than 100 million years old. Tasik Chini,
steeped in legends and comprising 13 interconnected fresh water
lakes; is yet another attraction. The state is also well known for
its many glistening beaches, fascinating coral reefs and idyllic
islands, including the world renowned Pulau Tioman.
