Selangor is located on the west coast of
Peninsular Malaysia and covers 8,000 square kilometres. It is the most
populous state in the country with a population of 2.7 million people.
It is also known primarily as the industrial hub of the nation, Despite
being industry based, the state is blessed with natural forests, waterfalls,
hills and lakes to complement its many man-made attractions.
Places of interest in the state ihclude
the Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agricultural Park and the Sultan Salahuddin
Abdul Aziz Shah mosque, both in Shah Alam, the state's capital. Other
notable attractions include Batu Caves, the Royal Selangor Pewter factory
in Setapak, the National Zoo-Aquarium the Kuala Selangor Nature Park
and the historical landmarks in the royal town of Klang. Besides these
sites, Selangor offers quiet beaches and quaint islands that remain
untouched by time.
