- ATI Driver Update 1.4.7 - (12/8/98) Allows
PowerBook G3 Series computers with screen resolution
switching capabilities to use additional screen
resolutions in Simulscan mode. Simulscan is a mode on
PowerBook computers where the same image is displayed on
the built-in display as is displayed on an external
monitor. Previously, PowerBook G3 Series computers have
been able to access only one screen resolution in
Simulscan mode.
- Display Enabler 2.4.1 - (1/20/99) Some
customers have reported that after installing Mac OS 8.5
onto a PowerBook G3 Series computer, their ixMicro ix3D
Road Rocket video card no longer allows external monitors
to sleep. This update addresses that issue. Note:
Macintosh PowerBook G3 Series computers should not be
confused with Macintosh PowerBook G3 computers. Though
the names are similar, there are significant differences.
To visually identify which type of computer you have,
close the display and inspect the display case. A

bottom of the computer. The latest PowerBook G3 model

connected to a PowerBook G3 Series with Apple Displays
Software 1.6 software installed, you may get an error

completely." when you wake up your computer. Version
1.6.1 of the AppleVision extension significantly reduces
the frequency of the error message occurring. IMPORTANT:
Apple Displays Software 1.6 includes the extension
AppleVision 1.6.
- ARA Client 3.0.1 - (8/19/98) Updates ARA 3.0
to 3.0.1 on a PowerBook G3 Series computer. After a
PowerBook G3 Series computer is brought out of sleep
mode, it will not successfully connect to a remote access
server using ARAP. The modem will dial and establish a
connection but the connection never gets beyond the
status message which states "Starting ARAP..." The
connection will eventually time out with an alert. The
connection attempt can also be terminated using the
Cancel button. This only occurs on the PowerBook G3
Series computers after they have been put into sleep
mode. Once the PowerBook has been put into sleep mode, it
must be restarted in order to make ARAP connections. This
problem does not occur with ARA 2.1. This software
prevents this problem from occuring with ARA 3.0.
- ATI Driver Update 1.4.7 - (12/8/98) Allows
PowerBook G3 Series computers with screen resolution
switching capabilities to use additional screen
resolutions in Simulscan mode. Simulscan is a mode on
