All that's needed is a half moon ... a velvet night ... and the voice ... of Juli Maners.

"I love to sing and truly believe it's what the good Lord intended for me to do."

NOW MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE SONGS

JIM LEARN

Songwriter/painter-artist JIM LEARN was born in Dallas, Texas, the eldest of four children whose father was an elementary school teacher and mother was a homemaker. He was raised in the southwest, and finished his education in the San Francisco bay area at the College of San Mateo where he majored in art. Although he began his art career first by painting landscapes and still-lifes, eventually it was his exposure to the beauty of the pacific coastline and the challenge of preserving the essence of an ever-moving subject that focused his efforts. Of his feeling about the sea he says: "The persistence of life along any rocky coastline, despite constant pounding by the elements, is an unmistakable metaphor for the human condition. Solitude, passion, and any mood in between - the sea has it all." For Jim Learn the sea is a constant that exists between the generations.

Jim's paintings appear in private collections from California to New York. They have been shown in numerous juried and open shows throughout California. His work is offered in galleries in the San Francisco bay area.

Over the years, some of Jim's occupations have included musician, welder, seascape painter and graphic artist. His interests include listening to music of all styles, guitar playing, fishing, carpentry, painting, crafting, watching movies, history, and exploring the California mountain and coastal regions.

Jim's longtime passion has always been and remains to be that of SONGWRITING. Like the superb painter-artist that Jim has proven to be, his songs are equally well landscaped with descriptive words and melody that only a true artist could first capture on paper and then set to music. With each and every song that Jim has submitted to Steinwood Publishing for review and consideration, everything from the packaging (with graphics) right down to the actual demo production, the work has shined like a master radio ready release, which is a delight to receive for any publisher.

We're confident that when you hear Juli Maners deliver each of Jim's songs, you'll be amazed at the extreme high level of professionalism this sole writer exhibits with each of his artistic creations.

JULI MANERS

"ANYWAY YOU CUT IT"

Without a doubt, Juli Maners is a singer/entertainer par excellence. Her beauty and smooth-as-satin vocals have delighted and won fans wherever she's performed. Listen to what she does with this excerpt from Jim Learn's song "ANYWAY YOU CUT IT" and you'll immediately appreciate Juli's ability to weave a siren call all her own.

From Indiana orginally, Juli was bitten by the "performing bug" at an early age and especially when she became involved with community musical theater productions. She soon realized music was an integral part of her and something she would just have to pursue as a career. Everyone who heard her sing agreed.

While attending college, Juli worked as a jingle vocalist in the Indianapolis area. Her voice has been heard on national, regional and local commercial jingles promoting the products for huge corporations such as McDonald's, General Electric, Mayflower Moving and Pic-N-Pay Shoes.

Juli's talents led her to perform at The Little Nashville Opry where she was a featured vocalist with the Opry band. While there, Juli met veteran country star Bill Anderson; he was so impressed with her vocal skills that he arranged for her to appear on The Nashville Network's "Nashville Now" show. Anderson also encouraged Juli to move to Nashville.

Since moving to Nashville, Juli has become much in demand as a demo singer at various studios. She also continues to develop her own songwriting talents. Julie is married to a TNN executive and is a recent proud mother.

Juli Maners proves that hard work and dedication combined with an extroadinary power to envelope a song with finess and great style, make for country music at its finest.

On our last GOLD RUSH COUNTRY (volume six), Juli was back for another encore performance, this time singing three of Jim Learn's excellent country masterpieces, published by our very own Steinwood Publishing(BMI): "Lay of the Land"; "Words Never Failed Me"; "Sierra Wind". While it is has been over a year now since these songs were first commercially released to radio through out Europe, they each still continue to receive good airplay, and we expect they will for quite some time to come. Juli is also featured on the newest A LIL THIS 'n THAT series (volume two) with another new song by Learn entitled, "ANYWAY YOU CUT IT", so we expect Jim's newest songs as performed by Juli will get equal attention from our friends abroad..
