LOLA DAVIS

COUNTRY DREAMER

Returning to Pharaoh Records' line-up of artists following a temporary two-year-leave (due to extremely unfortunate immediate family medical/death problems), Lola DAVIS is back with Pharaoh bigger and better than life itself as she chimes in once again, this time with her recently recorded, sure-to-be-a-hit single entitled, "COUNTRY DREAMER", a song that is in direct line with the old famous cliche, "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl".....a song which she also wrote.

Lola has always been a favorite with DJ's internationally, as all of Lola's releases on Pharaoh Records since 1995 have had the sort of staying power that makes for chart busting; her Pharaoh GOLD RUSH COUNTRY release of "Know Nothing About Cheating" remained on the European Country Music Association's (ECMA) TOP 30 INDEPENDENT CHART for ALMOST FIVE MONTHS. At Pharaoh, we're sure this newest song will be equally or even more successful. Lola's previous Pharaoh releases, ("Tears In My Eyes", "Is Forever Over Yet", "Damsel In Distress", "You Ought To Be Me", "I Could Get Used To This", "Where Are You Boy", "Know Nothing About Cheating", and "What Did You Have In Mind"), captured a vast fan base for her.

Exciting her listeners with vocals at once smooth and sensual yet innocent and down-home, Lola always use to polish up GOLD RUSH COUNTRY comp CD releases with a special sheen so Pharaoh is always glad to have her aboard, and we expect her release on the new series, A LIL THIS 'n THAT, to be no exception.

Her newest release, COUNTRY DREAMER, shows Lola at her best both as singer and songwriter. Just listen to her excerpts from previous releases and you'll hear why this proficient songwriter is also singer/artist supreme. A breath of fresh air combined with a breath of fire always sweeps into everything she sings, and in doing so Lola radiates a kind of heat that gets hearts beating faster and pulses pounding double-time.

Solid country, she's one of Tennessee's own having grown up and learned her country music "A B C's" in an eastern Tennessee musical family.

The same Christmas song that won her "Christmas Song Of The Year" in 1995 by a previous country music association, has now earned her the same award from the Tennessee Country Music Association (TCMA). Lola also won the Horizon Award for Country Co-Writer of the Year in the New/Modern Country category, as well as the 1998 Most Promising Songwriter of the Year award. Writing country music her own way, Lola's efforts always result in distinctively melodic songs with mature and intelligent lyrics that appeal to everyone.

Show business is full of stories about mistakes and blunders made by people who should have known better though, so just a few years ago a Nashville producer advised Lola to, "Go to Broadway!". He didn't know Lola very well though; this is a young lady with more drive than a freeway so instead she came to Pharaoh and immediately hit overseas playlists like a well-aimed cannon shot with her first three releases ("Is Forever Over Yet", "Tears In My Eyes", and "Damsel In Distress") on the first "Gold Rush Country" CD (1995 award winning "Album of the Year" by a previous country music association).

Since then, Lola has continued as an international favorite and has performed to wildly ecstatic crowds at Stella Parton's club in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood), as well as at various clubs throughout the area, and after a very busy, hectic, and certainly emotional past two years, Lola is back and finalizing her album for this year.
