Keep in mind it just does not happen to nonmilitary units, military units
are effected as well. To remedy the problem you can download a patch
for it. You can find this patch in the downloads section of the site

Does
AoE require a graphic accelerator board?
The answer is
no. Age of Empires will run just fine on most non 3D video boards.
If you do have one, it will not help any with 3D, but the game will still
look great. The Genie engine which AoE utilizes does not take
advantage of such things.

changed in Rise of Rome and the gold edition of Age of Empires rather
easily by using the drop down menu under the options before starting the
game. In the original version of Age of Empires it is a little bit
more tricky. Follow the instructions below on how to do this for the
original game.
To add the "Limit="
parameter to the command line in the Age of Empires shortcut:
- In Windows 95, click the
Start button, point to Settings , click Taskbar ,
click Start Menu Programs , click Advanced , and then
double-click Programs .
- or -
- In Windows NT,
right-click the Start button, select Open All Users ,
and then double-click Programs .
- Double-click Microsoft
Games , and then double-click Age of Empires .
- Right-click the Age
of Empires shortcut, click Properties , and
then click Shortcut .
- In the Target text
box, type Limit = x after the existing command
line text. Type the population limit instead of the letter
"x." For example, to set the population limit to 65, type Limit
= 65 . You can type any number from 25 to 200. The
default setting is 50. Parameters must be separated by a space;
capitalization is not important.
How
do I play a cooperative game?
One cool thing
that can be done in Age of Empires is a cooperative game. In a
cooperative game you share the same resources with another team member and
can control the same units. To do this all you need do is select the
same color. Note that this is not a good idea for more than two
people to try. |
