The
Conquerors ~ Maps
There are several new maps in the
Conquerors Expansion pack:
- Arena - Players begin with their bases walled off. A toned
down fortress map, players get a standard Arabia start and resources,
no towers near their walls or anything else that is common to
fortress. There is no water whatsoever. The map is surrounded by 1 or
2 large, continuous forests.
- Ghost Lake - A snow map with a large frozen lake in the
middle, units can move on it, but no buildings can be built. Water not
sufficient for docking. Standard Arabia resources.
- Mongolia - Land only map, with a lot of hills, cliffs and
large forests, providing a natural defense and easy to wall. Standard
resources.
- Nomad - Players begin on a Coastal lay-out land mass (most of
the map is land with enough water to allow docking around the edges of
the map). 3 villagers are scattered around the map. No scout
available. Plenty of randomly placed resources.
- Oasis - A land map with a small lake in the middle,
surrounded by a large forest, making up most of the map's wood
content. Standard placing and resources.
- Salt Marsh - A number of random land patches interconnected
by large strips of shallows. Standard placing and resources. Shape of
the land patches often allows for natural protection by forests.
- Scandinavia - Snow map with only 2 narrow strips of water
running parallel along the edges. No berries are available. Instead
there are 3 boars and a large herd of deer.
- Yucatan - A Meso-American map with 2x the normal starting
resources and tropical jungles instead of palm/pine forests. Often a
segmented strip of water is running down the middle of the map,
separating the players. There are jaguars instead of wolves and
turkeys instead of sheep.
- Random Land - The computer randomly selects a Land map ie
there is little or no "usable" water, eg Arabia, Yucatan,
Salt March etc.
- Real World - Chose a location from a list of real-world maps.
