What is
Word Art?
1) A feature that lets you transform text into a graphic object. It
is a part of Desktop Publishing.
2) Command: Click the
Insert Word-Art button on the Drawing toolbar or choose Insert, Picture, WordArt
from the menu-bar.
What is
the WordArt Gallery and its purpose?
1) The WordArt Gallery contains predefined styles such as curved and
stretched text. It then becomes an object in your document that you can
change using the Drawing toolbar.
2) It appears after the WordArt feature comes upon the screen.
Where
does a user type desired text when using
the WordArt feature?
1) Text is typed in the Edit WordArt Text dialog box.
2) You can also change the text's font, size, and style.
What
other features can be performed using
the WordArt toolbar?
1) Using the WordArt toolbar, the user can edit text, choose a different
style from the WordArt Gallery, format the Word-Art, change its
shape.
2) You can also use buttons to rotate the WordArt, wrap text around it, change
the letter heights, alignment, or character spacing.
What is
a way to enhance an object?
1) A way to enhance an object is using 3-D effects.
2) Command: Select object,
then choose the 3-D button on the Drawing toolbar. A separate 3-D toolbar then
appears.
3) The 3-D style toolbar button can be used to tilt the object, change the depth,
direction, lighting, surface, or color.
What
are text boxes and how do I add them?
1) Text boxes are useful for adding labels or call outs to a document.
The text box, once inserted in a document is treated similarly to a graphic
object.
2) The user can format, resize, change the position of the text box; just as you
would a drawing object.
3) Command: Insert, Text
Box or click the Textbox button from the Drawing toolbar. An insertion point
appears so text can be typed and formatted just like regular text.
How do
I format, resize, and move a text box?
1) Format the textbox by choosing Format, Textbox.
2) Resize the textbox by resizing the sizing handles.
3) Move the textbox by clicking and dragging it to a new location.

What is clipart?
1) Graphics or pictures already available for use.
2) Command: Choose Insert,
Picture, Clipart. The Insert Clip Art Task Pane appears, then you must
type a key word or words that describe the kind of clip that you want. Word
searches the installed clip art in the Media Gallery, then you scroll and click
the picture you want.
3) You may also choose the Insert, Clipart button from the Drawing
Toolbar.
How is clipart
edited?
1) By using the Picture toolbar.
2) This toolbar can be used to change the image to black & white grayscale;
increase or decrease the contrast or brightness; crop the image; text wrapping, resize the
object and maintain proportions (scale), etc.
What are borders
and shading?
1) Borders and shading add interest and emphasis to text. Borders are
single, double, thick or dotted lines that appear around one or more paragraphs.
2) Shading grays, colors, or patterns lines, paragraphs, or lines of text.
What is the command
for Borders/Shading?
1) The command is Format, Borders/Shading
1a) Light shading (25% or less) should be done on entire paragraphs to maintain readability!!!
2) Borders can be added to an entire page by pressing the Page Border tab
in the
Borders and Shading dialog box.

What are Diagrams and Charts?
1) Diagrams and charts organize information in illustrations so
readers can better understand relationships among data.
2) When a diagram is chosen, a Diagram Gallery appears, where the user can add
elements, sections, or text to the diagrams and change its size and color.
3) Command: Choose Insert, Diagram from menu
bar. Another way is to choose the Insert Diagram or Organizational Chart
from the Drawing Toolbar.
