When I was fifteen I left Nazareth House in Aberdeen and went to another home in Liverpool but the nuns there were different and they were not the Poor Sister's of Nazareth but I cannot recall what order of nuns they were.

The nuns at this convent taught me how to smile again and for the first time in my life I was happy unlike Nazareth House. The nuns taught me not all people you trusted broke your trust and if we had problems we could go to any one of them and tell them our problem and they gave me advice this took me a long time before I actually did this. There was one nun I am grateful to who spent days even weeks to build my confidence and she became my favourite nun. I never ever told any of them how I suffered at Nazareth House but often I would cry and this particular favourite nun of mine would come and put her arm around me and comfort me don't forget I had never had this done to me all the time I spent at Nazareth House. I loved it at Liverpool even though I was still in care.

My big sister when I was seventeen and a half said she would take me and look after me even though I was still under child care until I was eighteen. My big sister had a place of her own then and I went to live with her in Chelsea. I found it very difficult to settle down and I would often phone the nuns in Liverpool begging them to take me back but I did eventually settle down. I stayed with my sister for a few weeks and then I went to share a flat with some friends she knew there was about seven of us shared this house that was split into flats we had great fun and we all mucked in together so that was my first taste of being independent and fending for myself as far as looking after myself we had a great social life in the evenings and went out and enjoyed ourselves brilliant fun.
