His Citation Reads:


For heroism in connection with operations against an armed hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. Private First Class Jolliff distinguished himself while serving with Battery C, 6th Battalion, 29th Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Division. On 9 May 1969, as Landing Zone Penny was attacked by a large enemy force, Private First Class Jolliff left the safety of his bunker and moved to his howitzer to engage the enemy inside the perimeter with anti-personnel projectiles. Private First Class Jolliff's personal bravery, initiative and exemplary devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
