BONNIE WAS ADOPTED FEBRUARY 24, 2001
Bonnie (now Venus) was adopted by the family of our former adoptee, Daryl (now Milo)

UPDATE:
Milo loves Venus and he's getting very attached.  She is already the boss and Milo happily lets her dominate.  In the two weeks we've had her we've found that she's a little more rambunctious than Milo but has more resting time than he does.  It's taken a little more time for her to warm up to us because she seems more independent, but we find everyday she's more affectionate to us.  (I think in the beginning Milo was a bit jealous and didn't let her get to us without interruptions).  She really is an angel  - we found that she is very obedient and very willing to please.  She must have been well trained because she knows a lot of commands - she even knows 'paw' and 'go fetch'.  Someone spent that time with her.  She figured out the doggy door and she has even made Milo more of an 'outdoorsman'.  (It helps that he'd follow her anywhere!)  Well, thank you again so much for her.  The first couple of days I thought 'what am I doing with two dogs?', but now I see her sweet little face when I walk in from work, or she'll bring over a toy when she gets excited and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Bonnie's Story:
Bonnie was found as a stray and taken to the shelter. She must have recently weaned puppies as she still had milk. A family came along and adopted her from the shelter. To their dismay, one of the family members was very allergic to her and after 3 days they had to return her to the shelter. Because Bonnie had been such an excellent dog while in their home, they called Companion Critters, Inc. to ask if we could please go to the shelter and get Bonnie out and find her a good home. At long last, a spot opened up in one of our foster homes and Bonnie was chosen to fill the spot. She is indeed a wonderfully tempered dog. She had many mats in her fur that needed to be removed prior to bathing her. While we buzzed away with the electric clippers, Bonnie fell sound asleep! During her bath, which required multiple shampoos, she stood perfectly still. While we did our best to get her clean and comfortable, we will defer to the professionals at The Dog Patch for her total makeover for which she has an appointment this Friday. Bonnie absolutely adores people. She only weighs 18 pounds. She likes other dogs and seems to be fine with cats. The people who previously adopted her also claim she is great with children and was housebroken. So far the only thing we have found that Bonnie does not like is having blood drawn at the vet's office. But then again, who can blame her for that?
