ANNIE WAS ADOPTED JUNE 23, 2001!

Annie seems to be a product of generations of breed mixing. She comes in a very compact size at 30 pounds. Annie has a beautiful white coat that is a little wavy. This poor girl experienced quite a harrowing day. Her previous owner, needing to undergo treatment for a brain tumor, released Annie to the shelter, not being able to care for her any longer. That same day we came along and selected Annie to take into our rescue group. She was put into a car and driven to a strange house where she was put into the tub for a bath. (Hence the "bad hair day" photo since her coat was still wet.) Then she was put back into the car and driven to the vet for shots, a physical and heartworm testing. Then back to the house and at long last, dinner and the opportunity to settle down and sleep. Through all of this, Annie maintained her regal composure and trusted her caretakers to do right by her. You could tell she was scared to death by the look in her eyes but never did she let on that she was. Annie's previous owners claimed she was 2 years old but we believe she is older. Possibly 4 or so as her teeth are in dire need of cleaning (which we will be taking care or) and her nails were very long. (Already taken care of.) Annie has a very sweet nature and is very calm. Although she gets along with other dogs very well, she prefers to stand on the sidelines and observe instead of participating in rough and tumble play.
