Uncle Resley had earned the name "Bogard", no doubt, as a result of his ways and his jolly time 'out with the boys'. Skilled in building row boats, making fish pots and knitting seines, he also planted ground provisions just up the hill from Mama's house where he lived. He often traveled down-island to find work, and stayed in Antigua for some time. He was friendly and giving, but could also be short-tempered. His tragic and untimely death due to drowning - which may have occured as a result of a seizure -- certainly left a special void in the heart of his youngest daughter, as well as other members of the family.
