Thursday November 7, 2002 (cont.): As we were driving back towards the villa, I noticed some white buildings that I had no idea what they were. I knew we had hit the major resorts (and I avoided Cove Castles because my personal opinion is that those building are hideous and a blight on the landscape of Anguilla) and I could not for the life of me imagine what they were. So we decided to drive up there and see what they were. We were met at the gate by a guard who told us they were the Temenos villas. Before I could stop her she said she would call someone to give us more information so I decided the polite thing to do would be to wait for them since she was already on the phone. I was glad I did as Richard Pleasants, who is the executive director, came to meet us and was very very nice. He informed us under normal circumstances he would take us for a tour but as they had guests at this time that would not be possible. We wondered if all 3 villas were rented to different parties or if one party with more money than they knew what to do with had rented the entire complex. I guess we'll never know. Rating the above resorts (for us) we would stay at them in this order:
We stopped at Caribbean Silkscreen to get some shirts for folks back home. They have great shirts - I highly recommend shopping there! From there we stopped at Tasty's for lunch. This was our first time eating anything but breakfast at Tasty's and we were not disappointed! Mike had a cheeseburger and I had the Chicken Salad. $25 for an absolutely wonderful meal! |
