Lesson 10 .......................................... (10 Marks)
* Contact your instructor in order to participate in a demonstration of how to create and save a 1 fold card.
* Your objective is to create a one fold greeting card (or similar form of a one fold card). Show borders, graphics,
and text on the front and inside.
* Creativity: try to do a copywrite symbol on the back cover. Finished card must be printed back to back. This requires
two prints with the same sheet of paper. Exceptional cards may be printed on a laser printer.
Hint: Preplan by using a blank sheet of paper, fold it, pencil in a rough card, unfold the paper and try to recreate using
the computer.
1. This Lesson can be created using either the Word Processing (WP) or the Draw (DR) appplications.

Open a document of your choice.
2. Save as "Lesson 10 - Single Fold Card" on your disk
3. Change the margins to .5 top, bottom, left, right
4. Change to a Landscape format.
a). From the File menu select Page Setup
b). Change from Portrait to Landscape
5. In a WORD PROCESSING document format for 2 columns.
a. From the Word Processing application, select the Format menu and then Section. Change the number of colums to 2.

b. From the Draw application, make sure that the Show Rulers is active. Using the Line tool, divide your document vertically
into 2 equal sections.
6. Insert the Copyright symbol on the back of your document
a). From the Apple Menu, select Key Caps
c). Hold down the Option key and type a "g"
d. Copy and paste into your Lesson 10 document
e). Center on the page, and increase the size. Give your document a company name.
7. Insert a title on the front of your document
a). Depress the return key until the insert cursor is in the middle of the front page.
b). Type in the title -

8. Add a graphic from a source of uour choosing (Google images etc.)
9. Insert text from a previous document.
~~ If you are using the Word Processing application ~~
a). Depress the Return key until you have a new page started. (ie Page 2)
b). From the File menu select Desktop
c). Select your student directory
d). Select Lesson 6 - Computer Rules
e). Copy "Lesson 6 - Computer Rules"
f). Select Window from the menu bar and then select "Lesson 10 - Single Fold Card"
g). Paste
~~ If you are using the Draw application ~~
h). Create a new Draw document following the steps from #5.
i). From the File menu select Desktop
j). Select your student directory
k). Select Lesson 6 - Computer Rules
l). Copy "Lesson 6 - Computer Rules"
m). Select Window from the menu bar and then select "Lesson 10 - Single Fold Card"
n). Paste. Some of the text will run out of the first column.
o). Select the extra text by the usualy method. Cut the text.
p). Click in the second column and then Paste.
10. Do a spell check using spelling command from the Edit menu (Check Document Spelling)
11. Make all appropriate style changes ( bold, underlines etc.)
12. Save your document.
13. ** E-MAIL YOUR "SINGLE FOLD CARD" DOCUMENT FOR GRADING
Once you feel confident that you have completed this lesson, e-mail your document as an attachment to your instructor
at the following address:

Your document should include the appropriate file extension in order for the formating to remain in transmission.
For sending documents from Apppleworks, use the extension ".cwk". A correct file name and extension would look
similar to:
L10card.cwk
Notice that any spaces in the file name have been removed and an indicator of which lesson (L10) has been added.
The assigned value for this assignment will be returned once it has been graded.
