Advance Return of HHG/POV

Purpose

  1. If the soldiers is requesting an Advance Return of Dependents (AROD), then the advanced return of HHG's and POB should be included on that request. A separate request for HHG's and POV is not needed.
  2. Advance return of HHG's/POV may only be provided when the soldier has returned his/her dependents to the states and he/she is trying to send household goes and/or POB back to their dependents.
  3. T3. The soldier needs to acquire a letter from a third party. This third party letter should come from someone to make a informed recommendation based on the soldiers conditions, but be outside the chain of command. This means that if the soldier is sending the HHG's and POB back do to financial reason, the letter would most likely come from a financial counselor. If the reason is based on hardship then the letter would most likely come from the chaplain. Use common sense in attaining a third party letter.
