Command Sponsorship - Change of Tour

Purpose

1. If a soldier is serving an "all others (2 years)" tour and wished to attain command sponsorship of their dependents, then they must submit a request for Command Sponsorship / Change of Tour. This will change the soldiers' tour to a "with dependents (3 year)" tour.
2. If the soldier does not have enough time remaining in their enlistment to complete a "with dependents" tour the Command Sponsorship / Change of Tour may be conditionally approved. This means that the soldier must extend or re-enlist by the date indicated on the approval or the command sponsorship will be cancelled. The soldier will not be allowed to go to ACS Personnel Sections until their ETS exceeds the required DEROS.
3. Dependents that the soldier has gained after PCSing from their previous stations are called acquired dependents. The government will command sponsor these dependents so that they are entitle to come overseas with the soldier. However, the soldier will be required to pay all moving expenses. This includes travel of the dependents and shipment of the HHG's. The dependents are allowed to travel Space A if they choose. The government will ship the max allowable weight for a single soldier at the soldier's rank. Any additional weight will be charged to the soldier. The soldier can also arrange transportation on their own.
