Command Sponsorship

Purpose

1. Command Sponsorship is for soldiers already serving a "with dependents" tour (3 years). IF the soldier is serving an "all others (2 year) tour" they must submit a change of tour / command sponsorship.
2. Soldiers must have 12 months remaining on a "dependent" tour (IAW AR 55-46 Para 1-1b and JFTR U5222 C3a(2)). If the soldier does not have 12 months remaining then their tour will automatically be adjusted to show this.
3. 3. Dependents that the soldier has gained after PCSing from previous stations are called acquired dependents. The government will command sponsor these dependents so that they are entitled to come overseas with the soldier. However the soldier will be require to pay all moving expenses. This includes travel of the dependents and shipment of HHG's. The dependents are allowed to travel Space A if they choose. The government will ship the max allowable weight for a single soldier at the soldier's rank. Any additional weight will be charged to the soldier. The soldiers can also arrange transportation on their own.
4. 4. A soldier does not need to get command sponsorship for dependents born to command sponsored dependents. This is the case if a married soldier with a command sponsored wife, has a child.

5. Statement from Transportation - showing use or non-use of transportation entitlements.
6. Copy of Last PCS orders plus anything that has changed their DEROS )FSTE's, IPCOT's, ITTCOT's, etc)
