`Survivor' Top Show Again

NEW YORK (AP) - ``Survivor'' remained the top prime-time show again last week as college student Colleen Haskell was voted off the island, according to Nielsen Media Research figures released Tuesday.

It's been the same success story since June for CBS' island-castaways competition. And odds are, viewership will only build as the 13-week summer series heads toward the finish line next Wednesday, when the world learns who won the million-dollar prize.

Speaking of million, the Tuesday, Sunday and Thursday editions of ABC's ``Who Wants to be a Millionaire'' ranked second through fourth. The game show helped ABC to win the week overall with an average 9.94 million viewers (a 6.9 household rating and a 13 share).

Next was CBS, with 8.87 million viewers (6.2 rating, 11 share), followed by NBC with 7.75 million viewers (5.5 rating, 10 share).

Fox had 5.77 million viewers (3.8 rating, 7 share). UPN had 3.42 million viewers (2.2, 4), the WB had 2.66 million viewers (1.7, 3) and Pax TV had 1.33 million viewers (1.0, 2).

CBS' ``Big Brother'' nabbed fifth-place with its Wednesday live edition, but the voyeur-vision series wasn't so big in its other installments, which ranked 30, 40, 42 and 73.

In the evening news derby, NBC's ``Nightly News'' won with 9.29 million viewers (6.9 household rating, 16 share). ABC's ``World News Tonight'' had 8.58 million viewers (6.5 rating, 15 share), while ``The CBS Evening News'' had 7.30 million viewers (5.6 rating, 13 share).

Prime-time ratings compiled by Nielsen Media Research for August 7 to August 13. Top 20 listings include the week's ranking, with rating for the week and season-to-date rankings in parentheses.

An ``X'' in parentheses denotes a one-time-only presentation. The rating is the percentage of the nation's estimated 100.8 million TV homes. Each ratings point represents 1,008,000 households.
