Mr. Salinas - World History

"No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness, and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure." Emma Goldman (lecturer and activist)

Before teaching at Thurgood Marshall, I taught in New Orleans and San Rafael for a fun program called Summerbridge. From there, I did my student teaching at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, a few blocks from Marshall.

I love teaching and working with young people! This is my seventh year at Marshall - WOW!!! I've taught in family 9X, 9Z, 10X, and 10Y - Go Family!!!

My son Nikko Joseph Salinas was born in January 2002.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE AT THURGOOD MARSHALL: Academic Literacy, History of Identity, Study Skills, African American History, Leadership, and Modern World History. Mini-courses: Law, Urban Planning & Housing. Assistant Principal, Summer 2001.
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES: Former Student Activities Director, current Black Student Union and Junior Statesman of America advisor. I enjoy coordinating the annual Black History Month Celebration, as well as chaperoning various student conferences, fieldtrips, and the annual Senior Grad Night trip to Disneyland.
