Mr. Salinas - World History

Ask your child for a PROGRESS REPORT every three weeks.

Do you have a copy of your child's TRANSCRIPT? Request one!

The 10X Homework Center is every ______ from 3:30-4:30 in room 316. All students are welcome!

I use a computerized grading system which enables me to print-out a copy your child's individual grade at anytime. I will send home these computer generated progress reports for a parent signature in between each six week marking period.

Call or e-mail me if you need a copy on any given day.

Dear Parent or Guardian:

Now is a crucial time to be involved in your child's education. Thurgood Marshall Academic High has a very rigorous academic program that requires students to complete 280 units, the highest in the district. We need your support in helping us provide your child with the skills they will need for the next millennium.

This year is a crucial time for students to focus and prioritize if they are going to successfully graduate and pursue higher education. Turning in all assignments on-time, keeping up with the reading, and making sure they understand what's going in class and what's being expected of them academically, will be especially important during this final semester of the school year. It is important that your child prepares and reviews their work daily. Students should be spending two to three combined hours daily on homework and reviewing for daily classes.

If you feel as though your child is falling behind, I suggest that you have your daughter/son bring around a signed PROGRESS REPORT from all of their teachers weekly. The forms are available in the counseling office. The reports should give more current detailed information in regards to your child's progress. You can also help by reviewing their homework, and asking to see where they write down their homework assignment.

Please have them sign up to attend. Feel free to call us at school at 695-5612, or by e-mail if you have any questions or concerns. All teachers have 24 hour voice-mail.
