In ancient
times of societies, prostitution (present name) sex subject with temple unmarried women of temple was an act of worship to
the temple deity. In Greece the hetaerae were often women of high social status, in Hindus too they were ornaments of temples
and were called Devadasis, but in Rome these women were on a low social level and were forced to wear wigs and special garments
signifying their trade.
Prostitution we see in both sexes but women are in major percentage. In many cases parents,
husbands and boyfriends force them for this due to economic reasons and many cases found that girls are lured to this profession
by employment agencies promising to get good employment or husbands abroad. But scene they find is different when they reach
designation and passport and other legal documents are withheld to confine in brothels for flesh trade, thus they are victimized
to opt and no other choice. Despite their involvement in illegal trade the remuneration is too less compared to risk and humiliation
they encounter. Nearly five to seven hundred thousand women are trafficked. As the prostitution is illegal in many countries
seeking protection and escape from brothel is almost impossible that makes them to become sex slaves till they are useful
for earnings. Similar situation is with migratory workers who seek employment out side country. Beneficial to Governments
and parents but self they lead humiliating life. They too undergo the sex abuse and sex slavery and are not able to get supportive
protections from the local authorities and governments. Estimated figure says that about 1.2 million seek employment in Middle
East and Kuwait women mainly Asians who are appointed as domestic servants, according to Middle East Watch, migrant female
workers often suffer beatings and sexual assaults at the hands of their employers. Women who report being raped by their employers
are sent back to the employer or are even abused at the police station.
