Well time sure has flown by fast... I cannot believe that I haven't updated Michael's page since April 17th... it is not because he has been sick... it has been because HE FEELS SO WELL AND ENERGETIC that if it wasn't for having to go for chemo we would forget he is sick.
Treatment has been going very well for Michael. We are still only going to Cheo once per month and the remainder of treatment is being done at our family doctors. Michael enjoys going there because it is a fast visit. He still gives us a hard time here and there for blood work but he is brave for his chemo. He is watching when he gets the needle most times and is fine where that is concerned. We usually take him to the dollar store for a reward if he is really brave and doesn't put up a fight. Well last week there was no dollar store as he gave me a hard time. I felt so bad saying no reward but I had to be tough.... this whole thing is all about being tough... well I hoped that the next week would go well and it did.. this week Mike kept saying that he wanted to be brave to get his reward... whatever works..
He is very pleased with himself and he just feels wonderful. Chemo doesn't seem to be bothering him in the least.
He goes to Ottawa for a lumbar puncture, vincristine, pantamidine and starts on his prednisone for 1 week. Hopefully it won't make him too moody and he is also hoping that he won't lose his curly hair that he has grown to love. He always was a kid to love his hair short but after going through all this he likes those curls :o)
On Friday June 2nd we are participating in our local Relay for Life... and Michael is walking in the first lap which is for survivors , with 3 other boys....
YEAH MIKEY!!!! We are so proud!!!
