SCURK can be frustrating, no doubt about it. The most important techniques are patience, a critical eye, and trial-and-error. By this I mean that SCURK, like all art, involves a lot of experimenting, criticizing your own work, throwing your drawings out (erasing), and starting over again....that's what creativity is all about! I hope, with these pages of tips and observations, that I can help you in this process. In writing this guide, I'm assuming that you have already fiddled around with SCURK for at least a few days, already drawn a building or two, and are trying to get to the "next level," with greater realism and detail (BTW, make sure you have the right version of SCURK!). Nevertheless, newbies are welcome too...as always, the best way to learn SCURK is SCURKing!

As in SimCity itself, there are no such thing as rules in SCURK, but here are some guidelines that you should keep in mind. Each one is explored in depth in the page it is linked to:

Note! These tip pages, more so than most web pages, are a work in progress. I only have active links for the sections that have been completed or are in progress.  Eventually, I will have active pages for all these subjects.  I very much need, appreciate, and welcome your input/suggestions/comments/criticism. Is this approach helpful? Do you understand what I am writing? Is it too complicated/simplistic/detailed/superficial? Please tell me what you think.  My e-mail is:
