“Wake up beta, its time for isnaan.” I looked up and my auntie was shaking
me. Not again. “Huh what time is it?” “You fell asleep on the couch and we got to get ready to go to Amritvela.” Ok- Wah I had no idea if I was dreamin or awake. So I decided ok just go with it. “Um, Sure Auntie jee.” She led
me down the hall to the washroom and handed me a towel. Next thing I new I was sitting in the dark propped up against the
wall with a pillow (or was that my auntie)? Waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru …
on and on… waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru… Back in the car it was just beginning to get light. I mumbled,”Auntie jee, where do all the wahegurus come from… and wahe is guru sometimes slow and sometimes fast…?” “Imagine all the voices are coming out of this one creation within, given that we have been every other creation
(man, woman, child, beast...). . While the speed and volume of Simran fluctuates in Sangat,
imagine living life (lives) and sometimes (what we see as difficult times)
we need to hold on tighter to Waheguru (louder). When
Simran resumes a slower speed, it represents remembering Waheguru when life is, what
we consider, easily manageable. When one is attuned to innerness one may become aware of the underlying base
foundation of the sound of waheguru over which everyother sound is overlayed…my auntie answered. That’s a lot for a kid like me to think about. Guess I’ll have to wait until next time to find out whether I ever wake up.
