Golden Retriever
A large powerful dog often used for retrieving birds. The golden-brown coat consists of a short dense undercoat, which is water resistant, and a longer outercoat, tail is carried no higher than the level of the back. A powerful swimmer with great stamina, the golden retriever is an excellent waterfowl retriever. The breed is gaining popularity as a companion dog, and some are being trained as guide dogs for the blind.
