Shih Tzu
A small Chinese dog that is kept primarily as a house pet. Its tough silky coat is heavy and reaches almost to the ground. The usual color is gold and white, black and white, or brown, gold, or white. The long curved tail is thickly plumed and carried over the back. The legs are short, and the eyes are almost completely covered by hair. The Shih Tzu is believed to have originated in Tibet over 1,000 years ago. It later became popular in china, where it was clipped to resemble a lion. During this period the Shih Tzu was known as a Tibetan lion dog.
